“Harry Potter” actress Miriam Margolyes told The Times that she doesn’t have much time left to live. She revealed this shocking information while talking about her retirement from film.

Known for playing Professor Sprout in the “Harry Potter” universe, Margolyes confessed that she will likely die “within the next five or six years.”

“It’s such a great joy. I long to play roles that don’t confine me to wheelchairs, but I’m simply not strong enough,” said the 84-year-old actress to Mirror.

In an interview with the podcast Table Manners in 2023, she spoke about the time she underwent heart surgery to replace her aortic valve with a cow’s valve.

“I don’t know how common this is. I had never heard of this operation. But it saves you from having to undergo open heart surgery, which would be infinitely more invasive,” said the “Harry Potter” star.

At the time, Margolyes also told British Vogue that she was no longer afraid of death. “When you’re young, you never think about death,” she admitted.

“You can’t avoid realizing that the time left is less than the time that has already passed,” she reflected.

“I’m still dodging and still taking risks. I’m still open to new experiences. I’m just very aware there’s no light at the end of the tunnel,” she confessed.
