The Netflix horror film “El Habitante” was released in 2018 and in a way predicted the death of Pope Leo XIV.
In a certain scene in the film, a journalist states that Pope Leo XIV “passed away due to septicemia and a nervous breakdown with irreversible lung collapse, which is why he was hospitalized last week.”
The movie, directed by Guillermo Amoedo, premiered in Mexican cinemas in June 2018, and was also shown at festivals in 2017.
Amoedo commented on the coincidence with the name Pope Leo XIV in an interview with the Argentine newspaper Clarín.

“I decided to use excerpts from old prophecies, like the visions of Saint Malachy and other theories involving the pontiff, and from that research came the name Leo 14,” he said.
“If people analyze the film carefully, they will certainly find many more ‘coincidences’ beyond the pope’s name,” he told the newspaper.
“El Habitante” is a horror film that tells the story of a girl possessed by a demon. She is found tied up in a basement by three sisters who decide to take her with them, unaware of the possession.
