“I think a big part of my transition also comes from the influence that Black women had on me,” she said.
“Embracing this new identity, while also being prouder of my Blackness, makes me feel closer to them in a way,” Airyn told Them.

“I didn’t grow up getting roles in my dad’s movies, going to business meetings or movie premieres. My dad was always very firm that we find our own path. I want [success] to come from my own merit,” she shared.
