Actor Jeremy Renner released an autobiography on April 29, sharing details of his near-death experience after a snowplow accident in early 2023.

In his new book, titled “My Next Breath,” Jeremy Renner opens up about the moment he says he saw his “entire life.” The “Avengers” star was run over by a snowplow in January 2023.

“I know I died. When the paramedics arrived, they found my heart rate was down to 18 beats per minute — with 18 bpm, you’re basically dead,” he wrote, according to Page Six.

The autobiography was published on Tuesday, April 29. In it, the “Hawkeye” actor recounts how he survived after saving his 27-year-old nephew from being hit by the snowplow.

Renner was completely crushed by the machine, which he describes as having “six damn wheels, seventy-six steel blades, 6,300 pounds.”

“I heard every bone crack: skull, jaw, cheekbones, molars; fibula, tibia, lungs, eye sockets, pelvis, ulna, legs, arms, skin — crack, crack, crack, pressure,” he wrote.

The actor suffered more than 30 broken bones and multiple internal injuries. He was also at risk of hypothermia due to the intense cold in Reno, Nevada, where he was spending the holidays with family.

He had to undergo several surgeries and was discharged from the hospital on January 13, though he was far from fully recovered.
“Everything had pins. My body was full of titanium, with bruises, stitches, and bones still broken everywhere,” he wrote. His home had to be equipped with various rehabilitation devices to continue his recovery.

Now, in April 2025, Jeremy Renner is able to perform normal activities again — like going to an amusement park.
