The American reality show “Survivor” details the experience of a group of people attempting to survive in wilderness environments. Participant Spencer Bledsoe went viral on X after showing how he looked after 30 days of the challenge.
Bledsoe shared two photos, one before starting his participation and one after. The first image shows him with a healthy face and body, while in the second, he was much lighter and wearing tattered clothes.
Users were shocked by the results of the days spent in the reality show. “It’s really scary. This is like ‘The Hunger Games’ in real life. People on the brink of death for our entertainment,” said one of them.
“I felt the same way almost everyone feels: trust issues, paranoia about food, and fear of rain,” Bledsoe told Entertainment Weekly in 2020.

The participant also shared that it was a shock to revisit American culture. He spoke about the effects of consumerism and obsession with appearance.
“Being away from all of it in ‘Survivor’ was a blessing in disguise. And coming back, I felt like a fish that had flown on this crazy Survivor journey and now was back in the sea,” he continued.
The reality show debuted its 48th season in February 2025. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the seasons lasted up to 39 days, now they last only 26.
Bledsoe participated in two editions, surviving 39 days in the first and 38 in the second.
