Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh had to change her clothes at the last minute to deliver the news of Pope Francis’ death on Monday (21).

ITV’s programming was interrupted so Ranvir Singh could announce that Pope Francis had died at the age of 88. The presenter had to quickly change clothes to report the news.

Before Singh informed the public of the pope’s death, Christine Lampard was hosting the show “Lorraine” and speaking with Harry Clark from the reality show “The Traitors.”

“Harry, I’m sorry, we’re going to interrupt you for a moment. Interestingly, we were just talking about pilgrimage, faith, and belief. We’ve just received breaking news from the Vatican,” said Christine.

“Thank you, Christine. As you mentioned, we have breaking news from Rome. The Vatican has just announced the death of Pope Francis,” said the presenter.

Ranvir Singh was wearing a white dress with colorful prints under a black blazer that she threw on quickly.

Some viewers considered the clothing change to be “very unprofessional.”

“It would’ve been better to go straight to ITV’s news studio instead of GMB, and then to see Ranvir in a clearly oversized blazer, probably borrowed from Richard. Especially with such important news,” one viewer wrote on X.

The presenter wrapped up the news segment, and the programming then returned to Christine Lampard.

Pope Francis died on Monday (21) at the age of 88 from a stroke and heart failure, after battling a series of health issues.

The funeral is scheduled for Saturday morning (26) at St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican.
