Harry Styles revealed why he turned down a role alongside Emilia Clarke in “Last Christmas,” the 2019 romantic comedy.
Actor and singer Harry Styles explained to the Mirror why he turned down the role alongside Emilia Clarke in “Last Christmas,” the 2019 romantic comedy.
The One Direction member was invited to be Clarke’s romantic partner in the film, inspired by the famous Christmas song by George Michael, but he declined the role, which was ultimately played by Henry Golding.
Styles, 30, whose last film work was “My Policeman” in 2022, confirmed that he turned down the lead role in “Last Christmas” because he felt “too young.”
The screenplay, named after the 1984 Christmas song, was written by Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings. “Last Christmas” tells the story of Kate (Clarke), a Christmas store worker who falls in love with Tom (Golding), a mysterious and wise man.
