Renée Zellweger, 55, shared in an interview that she took a break from acting because she was “tired” and wanted to focus on other forms of artistic expression.
“When I was working, I thought, ‘My God, listen to yourself. Are you sad again, Renée? Oh, is that your angry voice?’ It was a regurgitation of the same emotional experiences,” said the star of “Bridget Jones’s Diary.”
Zellweger announced a career break from 2010 to 2016 and spent that time connecting with other artistic activities, such as composing music, and also studying international law in free courses at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA).
“I got healthy,” she stated.
Renée Zellweger returns to theaters in February 2025 in the new film from the Bridget Jones franchise, “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy”.
