Donald Trump described the ongoing negotiations with Iran as “boring” and said he is not worried about the possibility of the talks failing.

The remarks were made during a recent conversation with CBS News, amid efforts to end months of tension and conflict between the two countries. According to Trump, however, the discussions have become repetitive and unproductive.

The president said he “really does not care” if the negotiations are interrupted. “I don’t care if the discussions are over, honestly. I really don’t care. I couldn’t care less,” Trump said.

“If the talks are over, they’re over. If they’re not, you know, I think they took too long. Frankly, I think the discussions started to get very boring.”

The comment was immediately criticized on social media. “Yes, Trump is bored. Like a child and his toys that are no longer new,” one X user wrote. “Reader, he just announced that he is ‘bored’ with peace talks,” another internet user commented.

Despite the uninterested tone adopted in the interviews, Trump indicated in other remarks that he still considers an agreement possible. In an interview released last Tuesday (2), he said Iran had agreed not to develop nuclear weapons and even suggested the possibility of a meeting with Iran’s supreme leader if the negotiations move forward.
