In a recent interview, the supermodel revealed that she has secretly been dealing for years with a health problem that directly affects her work.

Cindy Crawford revealed that she has been dealing with blepharoptosis, a condition that causes drooping eyelids, for a decade.

The 60-year-old supermodel said in a recent interview with People that the condition often made her eyes look very tired, which affected her work, especially during photo shoots held in the morning.

“I remember probably 10 years ago, after I turned 50, they would ask, ‘Do you mind starting at 6 a.m.?’” she told the publication, explaining how she used to respond: “I can wake up anytime you want, but my face doesn’t wake up until 9 a.m., so don’t plan any close-ups or anything like that.”

According to the model, when she was in front of the cameras, she could notice that her eyes no longer looked as expressive and vibrant as before, and that she needed the help of makeup artists to lift her eyelids with makeup.

Crawford explained that it took eight years before she discovered that eye drops could help her with the condition and that now, after using the product recommended by a dermatologist daily, she feels a difference in her eyes.

For her, the result was so positive that she became the face of the eye drops. “It’s one of those little things we can do to feel like the best version of ourselves,” Crawford said.

Blepharoptosis, also known as ptosis of the eyelid, causes the upper eyelid to droop and, in some cases, can even cover the eye. The disorder is caused by a muscular or neurological change and can block the field of vision, cause eye fatigue and affect appearance.
