Whitney Purvis, star of the reality show 16 and Pregnant, was arrested this week for involuntary manslaughter caused by a fatal overdose.

According to information from The New York Post, Purvis, 33, was booked into Floyd County Jail in Georgia last Monday (7th).

She has been charged with aggravated involuntary manslaughter, distribution of controlled substances, and using a communication device to commit a crime involving controlled substances, according to documents obtained by The Post.

TMZ revealed that the involuntary manslaughter charge is related to Purvis allegedly distributing a drug called tranq, a mixture of fentanyl and xylazine.

Police sources told the outlet that Purvis allegedly provided the tranquilizer to the victim, John Mark Harris, which led to his death from an overdose on February 17th.

The news of Purvis’ arrest came to light just weeks after the sudden death of her 16-year-old son, Weston. The former MTV reality star announced the shocking news on June 2nd.
