The Teletubbies’ house no longer exists, it is now a small lake that houses a family of swans and some fish.
Anyone who was a child in the 1990s certainly remembers the Teletubbies’ house; but the home of Tinky-Winky, Dipsy, Laa Laa, and Po, situated in a valley full of green hills, unfortunately no longer exists.
A green area in Wimpstone, England, housed the Teletubbies’ scenes when they first appeared on screens in March 1997. The house for the four characters was a large grassy dome that blended in with other small hills, filled with flowers, in Teletubbyland.
But the valley from the children’s series no longer exists, it became unrecognizable after being filled with water when the show began to be filmed in a new location. Rex Harding, who rented the land to the production company for some years, explained to Mirror that Ragdoll Productions paid to have the land returned to its original state.
The landowner, who for a long time had to deal with curious intruders wanting to see where the series was made and where the Teletubbies’ house was, said that now the place is completely different from the time of the show’s recordings: “They came and dug the hole to install the house and filled the hole with water when they left”; “They removed everything, leveled the grass, and filled it in. Now it’s a beautiful lake that houses a family of swans and some fish”.
