The actress, known for portraying Miss Moneypenny alongside Sean Connery in the 007 spy movie, Never Say Never Again, in 1983, is also remembered for her appearances in EastEnders, Doctor Who, Into The Labyrinth, ER, and The West Wing.

“We are utterly heartbroken to confirm the passing of our beloved friend and colleague Pamela Salem,” a spokesperson told the production company Big Finish. David Richardson, producer at Big Finish, also paid tribute to the actress.

“Pamela Salem was lovely and we all adored her. She came into the studio armed with the warmest smiles, the biggest hugs, and often gifts. Pamela had an extraordinary career and she conducted it with grace. Every opportunity to work with her was a gift. We spent many happy days together, and I feel so lucky to have had her in my life.”

Pamela was born in India in 1944 and trained as an actress at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London before starting her repertoire in theater in Chesterfield and York.

She made a significant move to America in the 1990s. She was married to fellow actor Michael O’Hagan and they lived together in Surfside, Florida, until his death in November 2017.
