Australian reporter Hayden Nelson was robbed of his equipment while doing a live report on rising crime.

At 5 a.m. on Monday, March 3rd, reporter Hayden Nelson was live doing a report on the rise of crime in Adelaide, Australia, when he himself was robbed.

Nelson lost his equipment while talking to a man who took his light from the stand.

“To give you an idea of how some crimes are being committed with such audacity, about half an hour ago, during our last live segment, someone just came and took the light off our stand,” he explained.

“We normally have three lights here. He just pulled it and walked away. If anyone still doubted the need for security or police presence, I think it became very clear to us this morning,” the reporter said ironically.

His colleagues at the station joked that it was the rival station who had stolen the equipment.

“It was dark, it was in Rundle Mall, and ironically, we were reporting on the crimes happening in Rundle Mall,” Nelson continued.

The police have released an image of the suspect they are looking for. It is a man wearing an orange cap.
