Pauley Perrette, former star of “NCIS“, stated that she does not intend to return to acting, revealing that her life has changed and she seeks more authenticity.

In an interview with Hello magazine, Perrette said she is not ungrateful for her acting career, but feels she now needs to be present for every moment of her life, good or bad. She explained that acting was a way to escape her problems, but now she prefers a more genuine life and is therefore working behind the scenes on documentaries.

“At this point in my life, I have this deep need to find authenticity in everything, and being an actress, especially at certain moments in my life, was a great escape […] That’s why I only watch documentaries; I want the truth. For me, returning to acting would be a setback in this life of true authenticity that I am living 100% of the time.”

Perrette began her acting career in the 1990s, with appearances in series such as “Frasier” and “Dawson’s Creek,” and also appeared in films like “Almost Famous.” However, her most notable role was as Abby Sciuto in “NCIS,” a series she left in 2018 after claiming she was attacked multiple times on set.

CBS supported her claims and worked with her to resolve the issue, but in a later tweet, Perrette accused co-star Mark Harmon of assault, which prevented her from considering a return to the show.

Since then, Perrette has completely stepped away from acting and emphasized her commitment to living an authentic life away from the cameras.
