The parents of Brian Laundrie, who killed his fiancée Gabby Petito, speak about the 2021 case following the release of Netflix’s true crime documentary “American Murder: Gabby Petito.”
Brian Laundrie’s parents have spoken out following the premiere of Netflix’s true crime documentary “American Murder: Gabby Petito.” Laundrie was responsible for the death of the 22-year-old woman.
The YouTuber was traveling across the U.S. with her fiancé in a van in 2021. Her partner returned alone from the trip, and she was reported missing. Days later, Laundrie was found dead with a note confessing to Gabby Petito’s murder.
“American Murder,” released on February 17 by the streaming giant, recounts the final days of the young woman’s life, featuring exclusive footage and testimonies about the case.
Brian’s parents, Christopher and Roberta Laundrie, also appear in the documentary. The family’s attorney, Steven Bertolino, stated in a comment to *The US Sun* that they found “many inaccuracies” in the production.
“A perspective was portrayed as ‘truth,’ seen through their lens. Something similar to what we’ve seen between Republicans and Democrats lately. Each side believes their view is correct,” Bertolino said.
“The documentary contains many inaccuracies, incorrect timeline placements, and misleading statements or omissions of facts, possibly deliberate to fit their ‘truth,’ or maybe just errors,” he commented.
“We all know that Brian took Gabby’s life and then his own. Let Gabby and Brian’s parents grieve in peace,” the lawyer stated.
