In a recent interview, Nicole Kidman revealed that the daring scenes from the controversial film Babygirl left her with many “bruises”.

In the film, the 57-year-old actress plays a successful CEO who is married but gets involved with a much younger intern, played by the 28-year-old actor Harris Dickinson.

The film has already made headlines several times due to its daring nature, including an interview where Kidman admitted that she had to ask for a break from filming a few times because she couldn’t handle “reaching the peak.”

Now, during a conversation with actress Zendaya on the Actors on Actors segment of Variety magazine, she talked about the intimate scenes and compared them to her role in the HBO series Big Little Lies.

“So, you’re putting yourself into trauma. In Babygirl, there were parts that are no longer in the film that we filmed that gave me – it was exhausting, but it was also emotionally disturbing,” she explained.

“The same thing happened when I was doing Big Little Lies. That was disturbing to my body and psyche, because I couldn’t tell what was real and what wasn’t. I had real bruises on my back and all over my body.”

Zendaya then admitted that, in a similar way, she “still has her scars from Rue” from filming some distressing scenes for the second season of Euphoria.

The two then went on to discuss how they try to leave the emotional baggage of their characters on set instead of taking it home. “My brain would say, ‘Wait. You’re hurt.’ So I did things where they would cleanse my chakras and pray and [use] sage,” Kidman said.

“Even if it’s just a massage, where suddenly you get a nice touch. That’s healing, and we have to heal. I’m still learning not to sacrifice my body for art because a part of me wants to. I have to value who I am, it’s a journey,” she reflected.
