James Van Der Beek, who was recently diagnosed with colorectal cancer, is doing his part to make cancer treatment more accessible for himself and others.

The 47-year-old actor, who revealed his cancer diagnosis last month, announced this past weekend that he is selling merchandise from his 1999 film, Varsity Blues, to raise money for cancer treatment costs, including his own.

Van Der Beek wore a shirt with his character’s last name, Jonathan “Mox” Moxon, written on it in an Instagram post. “I’m excited to celebrate the 25th anniversary of #VarsityBlues with a limited edition Moxon #4 shirt,” he said.

“Each one personally signed by me. Get yours now at the link in my bio or go to JVDB.Shop. 100% of my net profits will go to families recovering from the financial burden of cancer (including mine),” the Dawson’s Creek actor added.

Van Der Beek revealed he has stage three colorectal cancer in November during an interview with People magazine. He did not share what stage of recovery or remission he is in, but said he is “very cautiously optimistic” about his fight against cancer.
