The 51-year-old German model, who hosted the show alongside Tim Gunn from 2004 to 2017, with her last episode being the season 16 finale, won an Emmy in 2013 for her participation.
Both Klum and Gunn said goodbye to the show after the season 16 finale, with the model saying at the time: “After 16 amazing seasons, I am saying Auf Wiedersehen to Project Runway, a show that I had the honor of hosting and helping to create.”
“I am incredibly proud of the show, and it will always have a special place in my heart. I am so grateful to the dedicated fans and, above all, grateful that we were able to highlight creativity and help launch the careers of so many talented designers,” Klum said.
After announcing her departure, the two told People magazine that Project Runway was like their “baby,” and after 16 years, their baby had grown up, so it was time for them to move on. “We loved our baby and wish him good luck. But now we’re ready to launch something new,” Klum said at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, referring to the duo’s new show at the time, Making the Cut.
Premiering this year, season 21 of Project Runway will feature 10 episodes aired weekly, but the judges and premiere date have yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Making the Cut, on Prime Video, will be hosted by designer Christian Siriano.
