Timothy Bliefnick, who went viral in 2020 after appearing on the game show Family Feud, was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment for killing his wife, Rebecca.

Tim went viral at the time for his humorous answer about his wedding day during the show hosted by Steve Harvey. “What was the biggest mistake you made in your marriage?” asked the host, to which Bliefnick replied, “Honey, I love you, but… [it was saying] ‘yes.'”

“It wasn’t my mistake, it wasn’t my mistake – I love my wife,” he said afterward in an attempt to soften his initial response. Three years later, Bliefnick’s wife, Rebecca, a nurse and mother of three, was found brutally murdered in their home in Quincy, Illinois.

The two were in the process of getting divorced, and prosecutors revealed that Bliefnick had meticulously planned and carried out the murder during a home invasion in February 2023. In March of that year, he was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and home invasion.

During his trial in May, it was revealed that he had extensively researched how to commit the crime, including looking for tips on how to break into a house and how long it would take for the police to respond.

“Mr. Bliefnick, you researched this murder. You carried out this murder. You broke into her house and shot her 14 times,” said Judge Robert Adrian, who sentenced Bliefnick to life imprisonment. He also pointed out that the couple’s children were asleep in the house at the time of the murder.

“I don’t know how long it took you to do this, but some of these shots were fired while she was lying on the floor, and you did all of this while your children were upstairs in their home, lying comfortably in their beds,” the judge added.

Rebecca’s body was found by her father on the bathroom floor of her home. According to documents filed in Adams County, she had filed for a protection order against her husband in 2021.
