For those who are fans of ‘South Park,’ they know that the show often satirizes society in general, and even artists and celebrities have been “victims” of the animated series’ acidic humor. British singer Ed Sheeran wasn’t portrayed in the drawings, but an episode from 2005 seems to have “ruined” the artist’s life.

In an interview with Slam Radio, the singer criticized the episode ‘Ginger Kids,’ which premiered in November of that year, and stated that it ruined his life: “Having red hair in England has always been a reason for people to tease you with jokes, but it was never like that in America,” he explained; “That ‘South Park’ episode ruined my life,” he continued.

In England, people with red hair are called Ginger, which is not the case in the USA. Therefore, Sheeran says he felt great when in America, people praised his hair: “I would go to America, and everyone would say, ‘I love your hair, man.’ And I thought, ‘Oh my God, do people like my hair?'” the singer said; “And then I remember that episode being released, and it was like that all over the world for the rest of my life.”

In the episode in question, while sleeping, Eric has his hair painted red by Stan and Kyle. Upon waking up and seeing himself in the mirror, he panics, believing that children with red hair and light skin are scary creatures suffering from “gingivitis.” Initially feeling cursed, he decides to unite all red-haired children from everywhere to end the teasing and effectively take over the world.

Despite his outburst, Ed Sheeran said he harbors no ill feelings towards the animated show. In fact, he is a big fan of the series and has already stated that he would love to lend his voice to a South Park character someday.
