“I bit my tongue and almost lost half of it a few months ago,” he revealed during the podcast The Interview, from The New York Times.
“It’s affecting my speech. I had to slow down. I need to use my tongue. It’s hard, because my tongue is swollen. It’s affecting everything,” he said.
He then admitted that he believes the incident was God’s will. “I thought, ‘Okay, God, I’m here. I think this is what you wanted me to do,’” he added, and he will debut in the play Othello by Shakespeare in March.
