The actor commented in an interview with TotalFilm that by the end of filming he was exhausted. The series, which premieres on the streaming service Max on September 19, was particularly demanding for Farrell, mainly due to the use of prosthetic makeup and a padded costume.

“Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed it, but it was a bit draining. By the end, I was complaining to anyone who would listen that I wanted it to be over soon.”

Although the actor faced challenges, he expressed gratitude for being part of the character’s legacy and highlighted his admiration for previous portrayals by Burgess Meredith and Danny DeVito.

Despite the physical and mental strain, Farrell has not ruled out the possibility of returning for a second season of the series, depending on how the story develops. Additionally, he is scheduled to return as the Penguin in “The Batman 2,” which is slated for release in 2026.
