Almost two decades after “28 Years Later,” the long-awaited sequel to Danny Boyle and Alex Garland’s zombie apocalypse gets its first trailer, leaving fans speculating about Cillian Murphy’s return.
The teaser shows a post-apocalyptic world where actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson walks through the green fields of England carrying a bow and arrow, and in a brief scene, a zombie figure resembling Cillian Murphy’s character from the first film hovers threateningly over Jodie Comer’s character.
“Time has healed nothing,” is the slogan of the Sony Pictures film, which is set to premiere on June 20, 2025, as the first part of a “28 Years Later” trilogy.
